SAT problems?

1. Suppose the average of 2 numbers is WX. If the first number is X, what is the other number?

2. 2 cyclists start toward each other from two towns that are 135 miles apart. One cyclist rides at 15mph and the other rides at 12mph. In how many hours will they meet?

3. A table tennis tournament is to be round-robin; that is, each player plays one match against every other player. The winner of the tournament is determined by the best scores in the matches. How many matches will be played if 5 people enter the tournament?

Thanks for any help. If possible please show steps/reasoning :].

1. 2WX – X; let Y = unknown number, then WX = (X + Y) / 2; use algebra to solve for Y
2. 5 hrs; each hour, the cyclists move 27 miles toward their rendezvous and 135 / 27 = 5
3. 10; 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, 2-3, 2-4, 2-5, 3-4, 3-5, 4-5
