table tennis rubbers butterfly
What blade and rubber should i buy to build my own ping pong/table tennis racket?

I am a pretty good player. I am currently using a butterfly brian pace premade racket. I have a pretty strong forehand and like to use topspin and some speed. I try to smash it win i can, but not like every single point. Now my backhand is not my strongest stroke. I try to hit it with topspin and some speed with it but sometimes it ends up being a little high over the net and goes out kinda a lot of im not careful. Ive been playing table tennis for years now also. but what i was thinking was like for a blade- primorac/with the flared handle, rubber- maybe butterfly sriver/mark v… but give me your full opinion cuz im not sure what to get! Thanks!!!!
please give me your full opinion and please help

Ok, for a blade just get a decent one, most Butterfly and DHS brands $60 USD + will work fine. Try to get a medium-fast or fast blade, depending on your style of play. Since you are offensive on the forehand but you seem to be weaker, or more defensive, on backhand, I reccommend a medium-fast blade, later upgrade to a fast blade.

For rubbers, you seem to be a looper. Butterfly Sriver is an excellent choice for this, but also consider DHS Skyline 3 (World-class looper Ma Lin uses this rubber). Sriver is fine, but Skyline 3 tends to produce more spin, but perhaps less speed. Other ones you could use are Bryce FX for more speed or Bryce Speed FX for some added speed and control. Mark V is not really nessacary in my opinion.

For your backhand rubber, you’ll want one that has control and a mix of speed and spin. You can emphasize one of the traits if one is your strong point. So Sriver is fine here, as is DHS G888, but Butterfly rubbers will most likely be better here. Sriver, Bryce High Tune, Bryce Fx and Speed FX are all solid choices. Mark V is fine as well in this case. Skyline 2 or 3 are good if you like spin.
If you are defensive on the backhand, consider even getting Feint AG, a long-pips aggressive rubber, very strategical, but of course, this all depends on your style of play.

Here is my personal favorite combination:
DHS Hurricane (any model) blade, Bryce Speed FX, Skyline 3.

Don’t use this combination unless you are certain it allows you to exhibit your skills to the fullest extent; it’s just my personal favorite. Adjust your rubbers and blade according to your play style. Over time you might find that it changes.

Hope this helped!
