What’s happening to release of games on original Xbox, now that Xbox 360 is around?
I’m starting to see that titles will come out on Xbox 360 but not on Xbox – this is fine for stuff like table tennis which I couldn’t care less about, but to find that I can’t get PES6 and FIFA 07 is really annoying.
Has there been any official announcement that these titles are not going to be made available on Xbox at all, or is it that they will come out later?
There is a good chance that many of these games will never become available for the original Xbox. As next gen games demand a better experience game developers will continue to work to fully utilize the new hardware in the 360, which is significantly more advanced than the original Xbox. Plus porting the code over to the original Xbox if it would play, is not a trivial task and may not be worth the effort of support.
